Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 store-bought angel food cake
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup ground cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. Thaw the angel food cake completely if frozen. Cut into 1.5-inch cubes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over low-medium heat.
  3. Fry cake cubes in batches until golden brown, a few minutes per side. Turn gently.
  4. Drain fried cubes on paper towels or a wire rack to remove excess oil.
  5. Immediately transfer warm cubes to a bowl with cinnamon and sugar. Toss to coat evenly.
  6. (Optional) Mix powdered sugar with milk for a glaze. Drizzle over coated cake bites. Let set slightly.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is not too hot to prevent burning.
  • Drain the fried cubes well to avoid a soggy texture.
  • Serve immediately for the best experience.
