  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 5 tablespoons cold or frozen butter, grated or cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 3 ounces fresh or dried blueberries
  • For the glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/8 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry blender or your fingertips to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gently fold in the blueberries, being careful not to crush them.
  5. Pour in the cold milk and stir just until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat into a 1-inch thick round, and cut out biscuits using a round cutter or glass.
  7. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.
  9. Meanwhile, make the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, water, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth.
