Description
Cajun-Spiced Shrimp & Sausage Bites are a deliciously bold and easy dish. This is a perfect crowd-pleaser for any occasion or snack time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (preferably large or jumbo)
- 1/2 lb smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch slices (Andouille or any favorite smoked sausage)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prep the Shrimp & Sausage: Peel and devein the shrimp. Slice the smoked sausage into 1-inch rounds.
- Season the Shrimp & Sausage: In a small bowl, combine the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss the shrimp and sausage with the seasoning mix.
- Cook the Shrimp & Sausage: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned and slightly crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
- Serve with a dipping sauce like a tangy aioli or ranch dressing for extra flavor.
- For a healthier version, use turkey sausage or grill the shrimp and sausage instead of pan-frying.
