Description

Cajun-Spiced Shrimp & Sausage Bites are a deliciously bold and easy dish. This is a perfect crowd-pleaser for any occasion or snack time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (preferably large or jumbo)
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch slices (Andouille or any favorite smoked sausage)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Shrimp & Sausage: Peel and devein the shrimp. Slice the smoked sausage into 1-inch rounds.
  2. Season the Shrimp & Sausage: In a small bowl, combine the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss the shrimp and sausage with the seasoning mix.
  3. Cook the Shrimp & Sausage: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned and slightly crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce like a tangy aioli or ranch dressing for extra flavor.
  • For a healthier version, use turkey sausage or grill the shrimp and sausage instead of pan-frying.
