  • 3 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 large flatbreads or pita breads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup garlic sauce or tahini sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to make the marinade for your chicken shawarma wrap.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, toss to coat well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best flavor of your chicken shawarma wrap.
  3. Preheat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked and slightly charred. Let rest, then slice thinly for your chicken shawarma wrap.
