Instructions
- Marinate chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
- Combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a dish.
- Dredge chicken in the flour mixture, coating thoroughly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Transfer chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
- In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and Parmesan cheese.
- Whisk dressing until smooth and season with salt and pepper.
- Toast bread slices until golden brown.
- Spread Caesar dressing on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer chopped romaine lettuce on two slices of bread.
- Place crispy chicken on top of the lettuce. Add tomatoes or bacon, if using.
- Sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
- Top with remaining bread slices, dressing side down.
- Slice the sandwiches in half diagonally.
