- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 (24 oz) jars marinara sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, onion, salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix gently until just incorporated.
- Form the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs.
- Pour 1 cup of marinara sauce into the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Arrange the meatballs in a single layer over the sauce.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours, or until meatballs are cooked through and tender.
- Gently stir to coat all meatballs with sauce. Serve hot.
Notes
- For richer flavor, you can sear the meatballs before placing them in the slow cooker.
- Use a cookie scoop for uniform meatball sizes.
