Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound deer tenderloin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 jalapeño peppers, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the deer tenderloin.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the tenderloin, coating it well.
  5. Place the tenderloin on the grill. Grill for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  6. In a small pan, heat remaining olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced jalapeños to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  7. In a bowl, mix soy sauce and lemon juice.
  8. Remove the tenderloin from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Slice the tenderloin into thin pieces.
  10. Pour the soy sauce and lemon juice mixture over the sliced tenderloin.
  11. Top with sautéed jalapeños and fresh cilantro.
  12. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure the spice rub is evenly applied for uniform flavor.
  • Drizzle olive oil on the tenderloin before grilling to prevent sticking and enhance taste.
  • Sauté jalapeños until they just start softening to keep their color and slight crunch.
