Instructions
- Peel the butternut squash, cut it in half lengthwise, scoop out the seeds, and cube the flesh into bite-sized pieces.

- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the cubed butternut squash to the pot and stir to combine with the aromatics.

- Use an immersion blender to blend the soup directly in the pot until smooth and velvety. Alternatively, carefully transfer the soup in batches to a countertop blender and blend until smooth, then return to the pot.
- Stir in the coconut milk or heavy cream and heat gently over low heat without boiling. Add nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Season with salt, pepper, and optional maple syrup to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with toasted pumpkin seeds, fresh herbs, or a dash of paprika if desired.
